Six in 10 Americans live with a chronic illness, such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or other conditions. These represent one of the nation’s leading causes of disability and drivers of the nation’s annual health care spending.1

Today, John Hancock announced that eligible John Hancock Vitality customers can get special pricing and access to Prenuvo’s whole body MRI scan, an early detection tool for over 500 conditions, including cancers.

John Hancock’s Prenuvo offering is the latest advancement in our commitment to providing customers with proactive health tools that empower them to live longer, healthier, better lives. We will be sharing more information with eligible customers in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, we’ve compiled answers to a few questions you may have about this offer below. If you would like to learn more or have additional questions, please get in touch with your John Hancock representative.

In good health,

John Hancock Insurance Leadership Team

What is the Prenuvo scan?
The scan looks for more than 500 conditions — including most solid tumors, aneurysms, cysts, and more — without radiation and in under an hour, compared to the 4-5 hours it would take to achieve this level of insight from conventional MRI scans.

Which of my clients are eligible for this offer?
The Prenuvo discount will be available to:

  • All registered John Hancock Vitality members, PLUS and GO, who are 18 years of age or older and have completed the Vitality Health Review (VHR).

Please note: The Prenuvo scan is not available to:

  • Customers with policies issued in Guam, Idaho, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Puerto Rico and Vermont.
  • The Prenuvo scan is subject to the completion of an MRI safety assessment as well as a medical intake review by Prenuvo.

How will my eligible clients be made aware of the offer?

If your client is eligible, we will reach out to them with information about Prenuvo. The email includes a link to a request form and Prenuvo will contact the customer to confirm eligibility and schedule the scan.

How much will my clients have to pay for the test?
For eligible polices, $500 will be discounted from the cost of the scan. The discount is only applicable to the whole body scan.

Will John Hancock receive my clients’ scan results?
John Hancock does not receive individual scan results from Prenuvo, nor does it know which customers have requested the scan or have been scanned. The results will have no impact on their current life insurance coverage. For purposes of research, validation of assumptions and evaluation of future health and wellness offerings, John Hancock may receive aggregated and deidentified data from Prenuvo from time to time.

What action is needed on my part?
No action is needed on your part. We simply wanted to make sure you heard today’s news and are aware that we are reaching out to eligible policyholders. If you would like, we encourage you to use this as a positive touchpoint with your eligible clients, letting them know that they will be hearing from us soon.
